Directions to Kilkenny Clinic

From Dublin

Exit the Motorway M9 at exit 8 and approach Kilkenny City. Take first exit at roundabout. Continue straight ahead (you are now on Kilkenny’s Ring Road). Drive straight through each of the next 5 roundabouts until you reach the Callan/Clonmel roundabout (6th Roundabout). At this roundabout, take the second exit and continue on this road (Esso filling station on your right) until you come to another roundabout. At this roundabout take the first exit for Freshford and Kilcreene and The Vision Clinic is approximately 100 m down this road on the right hand side just before Melrose Bed and Breakfast. Please turn into the clinic for parking.

From Waterford

Exit the Motorway at exit 9 and approach Kilkenny City. You will pass the Springhill Court Hotel on your right hand side before coming to another roundabout. At this roundabout take the first exit. Continue through the next roundabout until you reach the Callan/Clonmel roundabout. At this roundabout, take the second exit and continue on this road (Esso filling station on your right) until you come to another roundabout. At this roundabout take the first exit for Freshford and Kilcreene and The Vision Clinic is approximately 100 m down this road on the right hand side just before Melrose Bed and Breakfast. Please turn into the clinic for parking.

From Cork

(via N8 and N76 from Clonmel)

On approach to Kilkenny City you will come to a Roundabout (Callan/Clonmel), take first exit at this roundabout and follow directions to City Centre. Continue straight ahead on this road (Esso filling station on your right) until you come to another roundabout. At this roundabout take the first exit for Freshford and Kilcreene and The Vision Clinic is approximately 100 m down this road on the right hand side just before Melrose Bed and Breakfast. Please turn into the clinic for parking.

From Limerick

(Via R693 from Freshford)

On approach to Kilkenny city from the Freshford Rd, pass St. Luke’s Regional Hospital on left hand side and approach small roundabout. Take second exit on roundabout ( turning right) and continue straight for approximately 0.5km until you reach another small roundabout. Continue straight through this roundabout until you reach a larger roundabout ( St. Canice’s church is on your left hand side). Take second exit at this roundabout and continue on this road for approximately 1km until you reach another roundabout ( Sceilp Inn). Take second exit at this roundabout and you will immediately come to a larger roundabout. At this roundabout take 3rd exit to Circular Rd. The Vision Clinic is approximately 100m down this road on the right hand side just before Melrose Bed and Breakfast.

Rail and Bus Information

Kilkenny MacDonagh Station is just a 5 minute taxi journey to The Vision Clinic. Trains to Kilkenny are on the Dublin-Waterford line and travel time is 1hr 40 minutes from Dublin Heuston Station. Main bus services from Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford also terminate at Kilkenny MacDonagh Station and Patrick Street, Kilkenny which is approximately an 8 min walk to the clinic.
